Born in Post-Independence India, in the holy city of Mathura; Late Sh. Suresh Chand Agrawal Ji became the man of his house-hold at just 10 years of age due to the untimely demise of his father. Born with the entrepreneurial spirit, he started trading confectionaries by taking rounds of the city on his bicycle. Soon after he started producing his own products at home to sell, with just three employees and unwavering support from his mother and wife. Eventually, he purchased a small general store and continued to trade home-made organic products.
At the time, Supari was traditionally used in making Paan and during Hindu rituals. Through his quest in producing organic home-made products, he identified plain supari as a high demand commodity. With his sheer drive and creativity, he explored how he could improve his product’s reach and introduced a line of original flavour blends such as kesar, rose and elaichi.
His flavoured Supari blends proved to be a huge success and in 1990, this led to the birth of Sweety Supari, which has since become a house-hold name. Through his vision and ability to create unique blends of flavours and high quality products, Sweety Supari has become a benchmark in the industry. The hardships of his younger days and the economic climate in India after the Independence, allowed him to identify with the struggles of people from various walks of life.
This formed in him a deep belief in philanthropy and spirituality. He was always involved with his local hospitals, helping patients with ailments and illnesses, through dialysis procedures, eye and heart surgeries, cancer treatments and subsequent medications that were required. With his humble nature and dedication towards helping those in need, his involvement in charities was instrumental in providing food, clothing and shelter.
His support and initiative also extended towards the development of public infrastructure in his home district of Mathura, such as cremation grounds, riverbanks and public restrooms along with public orphanages and hospitals.
